This is not a real user guide, its just another assignment.
Sponsored by Kuwait’s patriotic photographers, I put together this collage of photos to show different aspects of Kuwait as part of an assignment to create a user guide cover.
The main point of this is to work on photoshops different filters and put pictures together to simply practice photoshop !
All the smaller pictures in the circles were created using two filters with different opacity to give the desired effect..
A combination of Mozart and Kuwait !
A recent assignment I designed for my Design and Composition Class.. It requires that we design a poster of the Mostly Mozart Festival visiting our town..
I’m sure many of you have seen this blending option on Adobe’s programs like photoshop or illustrator.
Here is something I put together as I was taking one of my InDesign classes at sessions.edu. Reed more to see what each blending Mode does to the picture.
A new series is showing up? .. no not really !
This is one of my earliest photoshop assignments.. Students were asked to make a poster for a make-believe movie or series.. And this is what I came up with …
Okay here’s another assignment, I had to pick a font and only two letters, and present them in a way that describes the font… now that is NOT what is shown here.. the other part of the assignment was to pick parts of the illustration in a way that doesn’t show what the letters are.. Here are three parts of it.. Can you tell what the letters are?

Here’s another assignment from my sessions.edu online program’s Color Theory class..
The assignment here was to create a travel poster of my choice, and considering readability and contrast in regards to using type. The exception here is to not use any color photography.
An essential recommendation from the instructor, and this could be useful to anyone working on a poster, is to start of with using two to four colors and then filling in the rest with different values of each color and/or different intensities.
Here I chose Egypty’s Sharm El Sheikh; I wanted to project the exciting adventures of the sea and sea activities that is one of the things Sharm is very well known for.

This is an assignment I recently worked on in my Design and Composition class.
The point is to approach the same object- which is my character here- using space, size and different positioning to change how the object is perceived.
The first image from the left is the character in open negative space, the second is zoomed in to a closed space and the third is where the negative space (the background) is divided by the ground and the rain drops.
This is an assignment that focuses on how color and light work together.
I was asked to choose two pictures; one of a painting and the other of an object from real life, and its best if both show a strong value contrast and strong color relations.
My choices:
- A Painting of Audrey Hepburn
- A porcelain object; a handpainted butterfly
Process: (the same process was done for both)
- I placed a suitable color for the background
- The first part of the assignment was to trace all the areas of light (lighter colors where the light hit)
- Followed by tracing all the areas of dark (the darkest colors)
- And then moving on to tracing the middle value colors
Slowly the original picture will appear in abstract shapes of colors! This exercise also shows which colors pop out and which colors fall in the background.. also known as the push and pull effect ..
This blog started when I was assigned to create a logo for myself. It took a lot of brainstorming and thought. Basically, graphic design is all about colors and typography; and here is where i tried to combine a variety in both. As for the name, the graphics will be Touched by me whether assigned from proffesionals, requested from customers, or flipped through in books and magazines.
And that is why I thought of sharing everything Touched here !
